A 99.5kW solar power system was installed at ALSPEC’s Sydney headquarters and distribution facility in Eastern Creek, NSW to provide an alternative energy source to the company’s business operations.
With the heavy reliance on electricity to power aluminium processing, cutting, and powdercoating leading to a rapid surge in production costs, ALSPEC sought an alternative energy source and solar photovoltaic (PV) technology emerged as an ideal solution.
An Alspec Solar 315W Galaxy System was installed on the roof of ALSPEC’s Eastern Creek facility. Covering an area of 569m², the panels were coupled with a 100kW string inverter to optimise energy generation. The entire system is projected to meet 80% of ALSPEC’s electricity needs for production and operations.
The lightweight solar panels as well as the easy installation method with zero drilling alleviated any concerns about potential roof damage.
While a conventional 100kW system would typically take 7 days to install, the Alspec Solar lightweight panels only take 3.5 days.
