A landmark office tower in Sydney’s CBD completed in 2011, the Architectus + Ingenhoven-designed 1 Bligh Street set new standards for sustainability and innovation in Australian high-rise development.
Architecturally, 1 Bligh features an elliptical tower orientated to the north with expansive views to Sydney Harbour. The double skin facade, full height naturally ventilated atrium and the efficient hybrid mechanical system all contribute to its high sustainable building credentials.
Access flooring
The installation at No 1 Bligh Street comprised more than 45,000 square metres of ASP’s commercial ICON X access floor system. Also used in the tower’s comms rooms was ASP’s ICON Data HPL system as well as ASP’s CONCEPT+ Custom VINYL system in the breakout spaces.
The tower’s circular design along with the central core atrium provided ASP with an opportunity to demonstrate its expertise in grid planning, utilising their in-house engineering and design team.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has been certified for the ICON Series. The EPD helped Grocon to facilitate a successful 6 Star green build.
ASP access flooring products installed at No 1 Bligh Street included: ICON X, the classic system for commercial environments, featuring the patented ASP ICON panels with a steel cementitious construction; ICON Data HPL, a finished system providing static dissipative access floor panels; and CONCEPT+ Custom VINYL from the CONCEPT+ Series, which offers access floor panels that are pre-finished in your choice of surface finish, allowing full underfloor accessibility.
