Tour details
Dates: Sunday, 26 May to Saturday, 1 June 2024
Group: Limited to 20 guests only (spaces will be allocated in order of receipt of full payment)
Tour cost: AUD$6,950 per person on a single-room basis (twin share price on application), including applicable GST. Flights/travel to and from Vienna and Milan are at your own expense. Bookings are confirmed only on full payment of tour costs.
Travel and accommodation: You will enjoy travelling in absolute comfort on board a luxury coach and accommodation in carefully selected 4-star hotels in Austria and Italy. The tour commences at the Dormero Ho Ho Vienna Hotel, a 24-storey mass timber hybrid hotel. It is also the first night's accommodation location. (Note: For attendees staying in Vienna before the tour commences, please note this hotel is in a newly developed area and 14 km away from the city centre.)

Sunday, 26 May – Arrive, Ho Ho building tour and welcome party. Accommodation: Vienna, Austria.
Monday, 27 June – Travel to cross-laminated timber heartland – Graz. Visit the TU Graz mass timber manufacturing plant, and recently completed buildings. Accommodation: Wörthersee, Austria (partially an all-wood hotel).
Tuesday, 28 May – Visit 100m viewing tower Pyramidenkogel Keutschach. For the adventurous, slide down the tower on a slippery dip. Visit a mass timber manufacturing plant and recently completed buildings. Accommodation: Zell am Ziller, Austria (an all-wood hotel).
Wednesday, 29 May – Visit a sawmill and nearby mass timber projects. Travel to the Italian Alps. Accommodation: Bressanone, Italy.
Thursday, 30 May – Visit a mass timber manufacturing factory and Rothoblass fastener and connector company. Accommodation: Lake Garda, Italy.
Friday, 31 May – Travel to Milan to visit mass timber buildings of various applications. Complete the tour by shopping in Milan's famous timber-roofed shopping centres. Accommodation: Milan, Italy.
Saturday, 1 June – Tour ends

Our small tour group will visit high-profile projects and meet the building professionals behind them. We will see buildings that are under construction as well as completed projects. Furthermore, there will be visits to CLT, glulam manufacturing, and other timber-related businesses. The tour will cover the very best and most advanced timber manufacturing in the world.
Air travel
No air travel is included. Participants must make their own way to Vienna, Austria, and depart from Milan, Italy at their own cost.

This tour attracts informal Continuing Professional Development points. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon the tour's end. Individuals may refer to their own Professional Association's CPD Policy for details of requirements and conditions.
