WoodSolutions presents a seminar on timber architecture and construction in Sydney.
The program features expert presentations on the latest in active moisture monitoring technology, Passivhaus construction, and the new face of industrial buildings in wood.
Internationally renowned expert, Jason Teetaert of Structure Monitoring Technology, a leader in real-time building physics tracking, will highlight a permanent roof leak detection system, which is able to pinpoint moisture breaches early before major damage occurs. This proactive safeguard system uses sensor networks installed directly into roof assemblies. Attendees will learn best practices for leveraging the data to optimise durability and lifecycle value.
The forum also includes a deep dive from Simon Anderson of Anderson Architecture, who will present on the journey behind creating the firm’s award-winning, timber-clad project, Pocket Passive in Glebe.
Following morning tea, attendees will hear from Alexander Symes (Alexander Symes Architect) and Andrew Payton (AJP Constructions). The duo will explore the process of creating their award-winning design and addition to an existing inner-city cottage. They will share their experience and execution of Australia’s first CLT Passivhaus project completed with Australia-sourced CLT.
The next discussion comes from Bernard Waller and Donal Challoner from nettletontribe Architects, who will examine timber’s emerging role in creating beautiful industrial estates designed for the 21st century and developed locally in Sydney.
