The Saint-Louis House is a private wine lounge tucked away on the busy Orchard Road in Singapore. This prestigious establishment with its opulent lounge and private rooms, adorned with crystal chandeliers, chic dark wood interiors and plush leather armchairs is certainly the place to be.

The Saint-Louis House is a popular destination for whisky aficionados and champagne lovers, featuring an impressive collection of limited-edition whisky bottles and a range of fine champagnes. With floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood in, special precautions had to be taken to protect the champagne collection from UV rays.

Vintec was the perfect choice and eight wine cabinets (model V190 SG2E) line one wall of their lavish lounge. Krug and Cristal are just two of their luxury champagnes that are showcased behind specially treated tinted glass doors.

Protection from light

All light is damaging to wine, but UV light is particularly harmful as it creates hydrogen sulphide compounds in wine and affects the tannins and the colour. Vintec wine cabinets eliminate this threat by incorporating:

  • UV-treated tinted glass doors
  • Dark interiors
  • Dimmed LED lights

Vintec wine cabinets are available in Australia from Vintec Australia.
